Mochi Taiyaki Recipe

Makes 8-10 Taiyaki (depending on mold size)
Ingredients:
- 150g Mochi Taiyaki Mix (Mochi Foods Taiyaki Mix)
- 80g Water (room temperature)
- 1 Full Egg (about 50g)
- 27g Oil (vegetable or neutral oil)
Method:

Prepare the Batter:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the Mochi Taiyaki mix, water, egg, and oil.
- Whisk together until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.

Preheat the Taiyaki Mold:
- Heat your Taiyaki pan to medium heat (around 180°C).
- Lightly oil the mold if necessary to avoid sticking.

Fill the Taiyaki Mold:
- Pour the batter into each side of the Taiyaki mold until halfway full.
- Optionally, add fillings like red bean paste, custard, or chocolate spread in the center of the batter.

Cook the Taiyaki:
- Close the mold and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, flipping halfway through.
- Cook until the Taiyaki are golden brown and have a slight crisp on the outside.

Serve:
- Remove the Taiyaki carefully and allow them to cool for a minute.
- Enjoy warm for the best texture.
Pro Tips:
- Fillings: For best results, leave a bit of batter around the edges when adding fillings to ensure proper sealing.
- Extra Crisp: If you prefer a crispier Taiyaki, reduce the water to 70g and cook each side for an extra minute.
- Storage and Reheating: Taiyaki is best fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 day and reheated in a toaster oven for crispiness.
