Mochi Foods™ Instant Mochi

Instant Mochi Recipe – No Baking Required!

Ingredients:

  • 100g Mochi Foods™ Instant Mochi Mix
  • 100g Water (Boiled)
  • 175g Sugar
  • 10g Shortening 

Optional for Milk Mochi:
Replace water with hot milk, and/or shortening with butter for a creamier, milkier flavor.


Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine Instant Mochi Mix, sugar, and shortening (or butter if using).

2. Pour in boiled water (or hot milk for milk mochi).

3. Mix on low speed for 1 minute, then high speed for 3 minutes until smooth and stretchy.

4. Once smooth, the mochi is ready to be shaped. You can cut it into pieces or form it into balls. Fill with Ice cream, cream, or your favorite fruit! Enjoy!


Yield:

This recipe yields 8-10 mochi balls.

  • Tip 1: Dust with Starch: After shaping the mochi, dust your hands and the mochi balls with cornstarch or potato starch to prevent sticking.

  • Tip 3: Filling Ideas: For an extra treat, fill the mochi balls with sweet fillings like red bean paste, chocolate, or fresh fruit before shaping.

  • Tip 4: Rest for Texture: Let the mochi rest for 5-10 minutes after mixing to help the dough develop a softer texture before shaping.
