Red Bean Baked Mochi/Nian gao

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g Baked gau mix
  • 70 g whole eggs
  • 70 g brown sugar 
  • 50 g vegetable oil
  • 550 g milk
  • 400 g red bean paste 
  • 100 g red beans

Instructions
 

  • Combine Baked Gau mix, whole eggs, sugar, oil, and milk with a wire whisk attachment. Stir the mixture in low speed for 1 min, middle speed for 2 min, and high speed for another 6 min. The mixture should be thick.
  • Add red bean paste in step 1. Mix on low speed for 30 sec.
  • Pour red beans to the mix and stir well combined.
  • Brush or spray oil in the inner surface of the mold. 
  • Fill the mold with the mixture, and bake in the water bath.
  • Temperature 250 C/ 200 C, baking time 24-30 minGood for 3 days at room temperature.

Notes

Refrigerated 15 days. Frozen 30 days.

Baked Mochi/Nian Gao

Nian gao (年糕 nián gāo), also called "rice cake" or "Chinese New Year cake", is a traditional food which made from glutinous rice flour and eaten during Chinese New Year.

  • 250 g Baked gau mix

  • 550 g Milk
